Bend City Council to allow for eminent domain if needed on 2 city projects

 In Local News

The Bend City Council last night moved to allow the city to use condemnation and eminent domain as possible tools to acquire certain properties on 3rd and 14th street if private negotiations with property owners don’t work out. The property on 3rd street is earmarked for the Citywide Safety Improvement Project while the property on 14th street would be used for temporary construction easements. The council also started the process to set up an urban renewal district in the Central area of Bend, by initiating an urban renewal feasibility study.
