Level 3 evacuation levels downgraded on Milli Fire

 In Local News

The 12 thousand-acre Milli fire burning SW of Sisters is now 23 percent contained. Firefighters have made enough progress on the eastern edge of the fire for a down grade of the level 3 evacuations to a level 2 or get set pre-evacuation level. The level 1 pre-evacuation level remains in place for Tollgate and Black Butte Ranch and the area between Highway 242 and Highway 20. The National Weather Service has a red flag warning in effect today for gusty winds and a chance of a thunderstorm. The 68 thousand-acre Nena Springs Fire on the Warm Springs Reservation is now 70 percent contained. All evacuation notices for that fire have been lifted.
